Missing baked texture requesting rebake.

Drover, Matt

What would cause this? My Avatar's textures rebake forever, over and over.

Only started happening since I upgraded to 0.7.6. I'm running on windows 2008.  Floatsom settings are default and so is opensimdefaults.

I'm seeing assets showup in my assetcache folder, so I kno wi'm getting them.

Any ideas?

If your asset cache is being stored on disk, then the other suspect for this issue is for some reason not having

Cap_UploadBakedTexture = "localhost"

in [ClientStack.LindenCaps]

Normally, this is set by OpenSimDefaults.ini but customized configuration load setups can get tricky.  The last time
this cropped up on this list in October ([1] is the last reference, unfortunately a bunch of e-mails went off-list), it
turned out to be that a grid config was using -inifile and -inimaster switches in such a way as to bypass
OpenSimDefaults.ini.

You can see the actually used config with the various config console commands [2]

In theory, not having the above setting should make viewers fallback to the UDP load mechanism.  However, I'm beginning
to think there may have been a regression in OpenSimulator 0.7.6 which stops this working in some circumstances.

Re: Missing baked texture requesting rebake.

Mic Bowman
just a fast note on this... i can work on characterizing later...

i was seeing this as well... not sure exactly what is happening because it looks like the viewer is using the generic asset uploader instead of the baked texture uploader. i don't know if this was the problem, but the viewer was showing a message like "negotiating capabilities try 1" then try 2, then try 3. It *looked* like the simulator was not responding so it tried different kinds of caps.

In my case i had tons of these running down the console screen:

15:39:08 - [AVFACTORY]: Missing baked texture 3a367d1c-bef1-6d43-7595-e88c1e3aadb3 (10) for Shane Waffle, requesting rebake.

Ubuntu - January 2014 OSGrid Build - Floatsom = osgrid build default

found that it happened every time i was wearing a particular alpha texture.

Suggestion - try to isolate the component causing the issue by changing avatar appearance then once found recreate it.
