No maptiles with HG (0.7.6)

Just done with the first setup steps with own grid.
But with testing i see that Hypergrid dont show maptiles at all. <suprissed>
Thats still not fixt, or did i forgot soemthing ?
It seems from every grid and singularity or kokua (ok thats other
problem) i dont see maptiles.

Is there already a way to get it working ? useing 0.7.6 right now.

Ah, good point, I haven't seen map tiles from HG locations from ages, except from Ai's OpenVUE, if I'm not mistaken. I think that the main reason is that the Hypergrid protocol has included a lot of changes, and not everybody is upgrading their grids to the latest versions. So maybe, just maybe, the request for the map tile has a slightly different format, and that's why you get no responses. Patience! People need time to upgrade everything.

But I'm wildly speculating. I can only say I have the same issue with most maptiles as well (I'm running the "bleeding edge" 0.8.0 version, straight out of Git).

I  have not enabled HG2.0 because that seems to gave in the past problems with HG. not sure how its now.
But would that be the difference ? I think something else is wrong with HG, and the maps dont get send.
And whats the right way to configure it ? maby maptile server helps but...

I've seen maptiles work correctly with HG.  It could just be that the destinations to do not have maptiles configured
correctly [1].

Isn't there something you enable like "HGMapTiles" or something, I
remember seeing that in one of these emails back, however I could be
wrong. There is no documentation I can find of it on the wiki, if it
is needed and you answer that is something it needs. I would love to
help contribute get opensimulator better documented.

This wiki page refers to the configuration being in [Startup] in
OpenSim(Defaults).ini but from 0.7.6 its in its own [Map] section.

I made the changes to the wiki page, but can someone else please
check this out as I know map setup is quite tricky and I don't want
to cause confusion.  But of someone with the knowledge can amend that
page it would help everyone.

are we meant to add the TWO lines

WorldMapModule = "WorldMap"
WorldMapModule = "HGWorldMap"

or is this page out of date for 0.7.6?

Intressting, i use only the

MapImageModule = "Warp3DImageModule"

But i see the worldmapmodule is in the default ini.
Same question, whats the worldmap modulke doing, because its also hidden
in the defaults it cant be important.
Otherwise it need to be moved to the opensim.ini default to if that
would make HG maptiles visible

Hmm. Let me rephrase my other email. I've checked today, and I've also noticed that I lost the ability to see HG map tiles from my own grid's map (I have a few permanent HG-links), but I'm sure that was working not so long ago. I've tested both with Firestorm and Cool VL Viewer.

Also, when HG-teleporting, I don't see any prims and/or avatars (just strangely floating llSetText) even though the mini-map shows the map correctly (and, of course, I can notice that I'm bumping into things). Teleporting to a nearby region on the destination grid will immediately restore everything to normal; it's just the landing region that appears empty. HG-teleporting back home has the same issue!

I wonder if these two things are related, and, if so, if they should be reported as new (?) bugs on the OpenSim Mantis.

About the invisible prims. i see them sometimes. but i fixt it for 95% by useing a singularity alpha version 5220 here.
Not sure if you use singularity but the latest release 1.8.3 (4998) gave problems for me, especially with mesh)

But maptiles i see with all viewers not when am jumped to other grid.
