Opensim upgrade - problem with friends module

cliveg
Hi

I'm in the process of upgrading our test server to the latest HEAD of
0.6.9 and when I go to start the simulator using mono OpenSim.exe I
get an error message relating to the FRIENDS module:

"Failed to load plugin OpenSim.Data.IFriendsData from OpenSim.Data.MySQL.dll"

I have found Justin's posting at
http://justincc.org/blog/2010/03/17/this-week-in-opensim-dev-week-ending-saturday-13th-march-2010/
but can't understand where I am going wrong.

So far I have downloaded and buit the latest version of the HEAD,
copied over the configuration and texture files from my previous
installation of 0.6.9 and edited OpenSim.ini to add the friends
information from OpenSim.ini.example.

The commands I have used to copy over the configuration files are listed below:

cp opensim-0.6.9-pre-release/bin/OpenSim.ini
opensim-0.6.9-060510/bin/OpenSim.ini
cp opensim-0.6.9-pre-release/bin/config-include/StandaloneCommon.ini
opensim-0.6.9-060510/bin/config-include
cp opensim-0.6.9-pre-release/bin/config-include/CenomeCache.ini
opensim-0.6.9-060510/bin/config-include
cp opensim-0.6.9-pre-release/bin/Library/* opensim-0.6.9-060510/bin/Library
cp opensim-0.6.9-pre-release/bin/Regions/Regions.ini
opensim-0.6.9-060510/bin/Regions
cp opensim-0.6.9-pre-release/bin/Regions/Regions.ini.*
opensim-0.6.9-060510/bin/Regions
cp opensim-0.6.9-pre-release/bin/*.bmp opensim-0.6.9-060510/bin
cp opensim-0.6.9-pre-release/bin/*.png opensim-0.6.9-060510/bin

Any idea where I am going wrong please?

Thanks very much

Clive

Hi Clive.  That post actually refers to a change shortly after 0.6.9 was branched.  There is no separate Friends module in 0.6.9 so I'm guessing that maybe you accidentally downloaded OpenSim master instead (where this friends issue will occur without changes to config-include/StandaloneCommon.ini

Hi Justin

I've just downloaded and installed 0.6.9.rc2 from
http://dist.opensimulator.org and the simulator now starts fine :D

Now to get the rogue student to try logging in from home ;)

Thanks very much for the invaluable help.

Clive
