Re: Hypergrid 1.5 and Teleports not working?

Diva, this may seem a bit of a silly question, but I assume that we
still give link-region commands to Opensim.exe  or via the
startup-commands script ist and not in the Robust.exe console?  If
its to the Robust.exe console is there a startup commands equivalent
to let us make this automatic?

So for example will the following in Opensim.exe cause a hyperlink to
someone elses grid and which the Gatekeeper then will police?

      link-region 6001,6001 yourgrid.com:8002:Your Region

You mention allowing regions beyond the default one as hypergrid
locations...  I have seen how to set up default regions and
alternative landing locations in the 0.7 Opensim.ini.example, but
where are hypergrid permitted and default regions et up?  Is there an
online wiki page or ex ample in the ini files somewhere?

And I also guess the previous 4096,4096 range between hyperjump
locations across the initial and final location home grid xoc, yloc
squares still applies?  But worth asking in case that has changed.

I am still looking for someone with a HG1.5 test setup who has a
region within 4096,4096 of 1000,1000 so I can test by the way, anyone
out there with such a grid and location on 0.7/HG1.5?

Hi Ai,
you can test with my TestGrid (0.7.1 with HG 1.5) It's centered 4000

dev.germangrid.de:8002

Easy

You can link-region in the sims' console and also in the robust console.
You can also link automatically by searching the name (with that special
syntax) on the map or by typing&clicking secondlife:// urls on the chat
window.

Link-region's on the Robust server make the link permanent, i.e. it
stays in the DB until you remove it. It survives reboots. (This is also
true for standalones configured for that purpose, like the diva distro,
when I do the 0.7 release for it)

Yes, this goes to the gatekeeper of yourgrid.com. There is a config var
in the [Gatekeeper] section called
AllowTeleportsToAnyRegion
It's true by default, but ppl can make it false, in which case that grid
will only allow links to the Default_Regions. So if that would be false
in yourgrid.com, that command up there would end up ignoring the
requested region.

For now, the default hypergrid regions are the Default ones in the
[GridService] section. If ppl feel the need to make the hypergrid
default regions different, I can consider adding that.

I think so. To my knowledge, no viewer has fixed this.

Thanks Easy...  congratulations on DE world cup win against EN :-)

Do you fancy trying to get through to me at

virtual.aiai.ed.ac,uk:8002

or with the region name

virtual.aiai.ed.ac,uk:8002:Openvue

----------------------------------------------

Are you up and running just now?  I ask as a link region command
stated to my 0.7 setup did not work a moment ago (Sunday 27-Jun-2010
17:18 GMT+1)

One thing that seems odd is that there is an extra ":" on end in
diagonstics line, though I stated none in my link region, so as to
link to your default region named.  Maybe you could give me your
region ma e so I can see if that fares any better.

Also, what is the pair of numbers "in 259072-259072" - as my own
regions are centred on 1000,1000 and I set to link your region in at
1012, 1012 on my grid?

----------------------------------------------------------------

link-region 1012 1012 dev.germangrid.de:8002

R.O.B.U.S.T.# link-region 1012 1012 dev.germangrid.de:8002

Where is this section Diva?  Or odes it need adding to the 0.7
.ini.examples files?

I am searching for this in the 0.7 examples files Diva as I don't
seem to have such a section anywhere. I cannot see a [Gatekeeper]
section in any of Robust.HG.ini.example, Robust.ini.example,
Opensim.ini.example. or the GridCommon.ini.example

There is a section in Robust.HG.ini called [GastekeeperService] but
it does not have a line in it for AllowTeleportsToAnyRegion.

I did set the default region in the [GridService] section in
Robust.HG.ini, where my default region at 1000,1000 is named
"Openvue", which I assume is correct....

[GridService]
     LocalServiceModule = "OpenSim.Services.GridService.dll:GridService"
     Realm = "regions"
     ; AllowDuplicateNames = "True"
     Region_Openvue = "DefaultRegion, FallbackRegion"

It's [GatekeeperService]. The config var is probably not in the example
but it exists.

Maybe this helps:

Easy, with the correction of the Region name (requiring underscore)
at  dev.germangrid.de:8002, I can now hyperlink to that...

...can you try again correcting the typo I put in my domain name... I
had a comma rather than one full stop domain should be

virtual.aiai.ed.ac.uk:8002:Openvue

I was able to teleport to

secondlife://dev.germangrid.de:8002/

the teleport landmark correctly showed the image for the region at German Grid.

I as able to create a test object at the location.

and then I was return home to virtual.aiai.ed.ac.uk successfully.

But when I tried to go back again to
secondlife://dev.germangrid.de:8002/ in same SL Viewer session (or a
second separate seesion), the landmark now does not show the German
Grid map (it shows the default question mark) and I get a pop up
message saying "The region you tried to teleport to doesn't exist
anymore"..Did it crash with my teleport back home at 11:45 CET Easy
or is it a problem in some other aspect of HG1.5 setup at my end?

Easy, on attempts today to teleport to your HG1.5 site at
dev.germangrid.de:8002, I get there fine initially, and the region
objects start to load, but then after about 30 seconds I get a forced
logout of the viewer.

Can you see anything  in the logs at your end that indicate why this
might be happening?  I am just sat there doing nothing waiting for
the region objects to load when it logs me out.

Using avatars "Ai Austin" and "Be Austin" coming from
virtual.aiai.ed.ac.uk:8002:Openvue each time.

I am teleporting via a map which is link-region to your area.

I was initially able to use the link within chat to
secondlife://dev.germangrid.de:8002/ to get there also, and it showed
the map tile image as on the main map in the landmark shown.  But now
the "?" shows in the landmark rather than the map tile, and it always
says that location no longer exists.  And that has persisted all day
and across a lot of  logins and for two different avatars.  Must be
something that has got cached and is not being reset after its used
perhaps? Diva any thoughts on that?

Re: Hypergrid 1.5 and Teleports not working?

Dolma Dollinger
That with the "?" I got too but then I searched for "dev" in my map and found a hyperlink there!
And I could teleport again

Easy, on attempts today to teleport to your HG1.5 site at dev.germangrid.de:8002, I get there fine initially, and the region objects start to load, but then after about 30 seconds I get a forced logout of the viewer.

Can you see anything  in the logs at your end that indicate why this might be happening?  I am just sat there doing nothing waiting for the region objects to load when it logs me out.

Using avatars "Ai Austin" and "Be Austin" coming from virtual.aiai.ed.ac.uk:8002:Openvue each time.

I am teleporting via a map which is link-region to your area.

I was initially able to use the link within chat to secondlife://dev.germangrid.de:8002/ to get there also, and it showed the map tile image as on the main map in the landmark shown.  But now the "?" shows in the landmark rather than the map tile, and it always says that location no longer exists.  And that has persisted all day and across a lot of  logins and for two different avatars.  Must be something that has got cached and is not being reset after its used perhaps? Diva any thoughts on that?
