Weird freeswitch problem

Olli Aro
Administrator

Hi all,

I have a funny freeswitch problem on a server I have been trying to setup. I have configured everything as described in various articles around, can see traffic in both OpenSim and Freeswitch console when people login. Even further each avatar will see the talk indicator at the top of their own avatar, but not for the other avatars. Also, if I do IM call between avatars it is possible to answer the call, but neither party can’t hear anything.

I do get an error in Freeswitch console, but not sure if it is significant. Anyway I have copied the error below in case…

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? Could it be e.g. the local firewall blocking some communications?

Both OpenSim and Freeswitch are installed on the same box.

Regards,

I really hope we figure out a better, more intuitive method for implementing voice features. I have seen some conversations on the OpenSim-devs area at this link http://n2.nabble.com/Mumble-Voice-td4112610.html#a4112610 and maybe something will be finalized over the next six months.

Got it working after two days of solid testing and experimenting. I had to
enable port 5060 in the firewall, but also for some reason it did not want
to work if I commented out enter-sound from the FreeSwitch conference
settings. I am sure I have had it working commented out with other servers
before...

Anyway, what I had to do instead was to create a really short sound when
people entered and that then gives a kick for the voice functionality so
that works. Here is the line in case anyone else has the same problem:

<param name="enter-sound" value="tone_stream://%(1,0,500,600,7000)"/>

Regards,

Olli

After testing further it seems that I get different results with different
ISPs.

Does anyone know what are the ports at the client side that definitely must
be allowed while using voice with OpenSim?

Olli
