Re: an other glitch, sorry - Configuration file is missing the [SimulationDataStore] section

Marck-2
In fact, there are two sections missing from StandaloneHypergrid.ini,SimulationDataStore andEstateDataStore. Try to copy those sections from Standalone.ini:

[SimulationDataStore]
     LocalServiceModule = "OpenSim.Services.Connectors.dll:SimulationDataService"

[EstateDataStore]
     LocalServiceModule = "OpenSim.Services.Connectors.dll:EstateDataService"

I ran into the same problem and adding those lines to StandaloneHypergrid.ini at least made OpenSim.exe start up okay.

I still see an issue with migrating SQLite databases to the current git master. When I try to use my existing *.db files with the recent versions from git, then none of the script assets are found. Same for many (all?) of the textures. A setup from scratch with no data to migrate works okay though.

Re: an other glitch, sorry - Configuration file is missing the [SimulationDataStore] section

Opensimfan
UPDATE:

it worked...  so this needs to be added to .example and .ini files,
or change code to load database connection correctly...

weird eye color problem

Serendipity Seraph
In reply to this post by Opensimfan
I run a region under 0.6.9.  For some reason both of my avatars have
got weird eyes now.  For a while they looked fine.  Now both of them
have pretty much unicolor eyes, no iris.   Under appearance the iris
texture seems to be blank/white.  So I am unsure what the heck is going
on or how to fix it?   Known problem with maybe known fix?

Thanks.

Serendipity, what viewer are you using?

Re: weird eye color problem

Karen Palen
This sounds like the texture file has become disconnected from the avatar somehow, possibly it never got into the actual database for some reason.

Due to cacheing in the viewer this may not be visible until you switch viewers or reload the cache.

This is a common problem when transferring items between grids via an XML file, unless the textures are saved and uploaded with the XML file everythign looks great until you look at it with another viewer.

I had a similar problem (viewing with Hippo). I rebaked the textures
(CTRL+ALT+R) and that fixed it. Might not be related to the problem
you're having though.

Re: weird eye color problem

Jason Shipley
I have had this problem as well, in SL, OSGrid and my own standalone.  I
found I had to go into appearance and manually "lighten" the shade of my
eyes with the adjustment slider.  For some reason, the avatar eye
object/layer can lose this setting.  Could never figure out if it's a
database burp or just gremlins, but that usually fixes it for me.  Hope
this helps.

Independent of viewer as I tried both Hippo and the new Phoenix viewer with the same results.  BTW, I am loving the Phoenix viewer in both OpenSim and SL.  Much better graphics and a few other things I miss from the moribund Emerald.   The problem I was having seems to be the result of having a few eyes in inventory that are sort of broken.  I tried some others and they are working fine.  So problem resolved for now.

Re: weird eye color problem

Karen Palen
For some reason "eye" textures are very "fragile" and tend to reset to "dark" when loaded form an XML file - a PITA, but not major problem!
