zoom camera on non-player characters bug?

Dr Ramesh Ramloll
Hello
Does anyone know if the later versions of opensim (am using 1.6.7) have the following bug fixed?
whenever you try to zoom in on a non-player character the camera snaps elsewhere (most of the time to the center of the screen)....and you end up disoriented.
Thanks
Ramesh

Re: zoom camera on non-player characters bug?

hack13
I think you mean viewer, opensim is only up to 0.7.6 rc 1. I would suggest trying Singularity or Firestorm, the latest version. Then turn off camera constraints, that should fix your issue, that is a viewer side thing, I am pretty sure.

Re: zoom camera on non-player characters bug?

Dr Ramesh Ramloll
:) yes you are right. I feel a little embarrassed about the mistakes.

Re: zoom camera on non-player characters bug?

Dr Ramesh Ramloll
preambe: this is an opensim users list, not dev, so I am taking the liberty to discuss something about a viewer used to access opensim. Looks like am getting the same behavior even after turning off cam constraints. I now realize it happens not only for NPCs but for your own avatar too. Sit your avie down, then try to zoom on it. In my  case, even in the latest Singularity viewer, the zoom cursor snaps to the center (to see this ..release left click, you will that the cursor has moved from the chosen target to the center of screen)
